WTO Dispute Settlement Proceeding Regarding ArgentinaMeasures Affecting Imports of Footwear

Resumen

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (``USTR'') is providing notice of a request by the United States for the establishment of a dispute settlement panel under the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization (``WTO'') to examine Argentina's modification of its safeguard measure affecting imports of footwear. In this dispute, the United States alleges that modification of the safeguard measure is inconsistent with Argentina's obligations under the WTO Agreement on Safeguards. USTR invites written comments from the public concerning the issues raised in this dispute.
