Resumen

In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent order requires, among other things, the respondents to operate the HCA Aiken Regional Medical Center, in South Carolina, as separate, independent hospital until it is divested to a Commission-approved acquirer. In addition, for ten years, the order prohibits the respondents from acquiring, without prior Commission approval, any other hospital in the Augusta-Aiken area.
