NHTSA Receives Petitions for Temporary Exemption from Shoulder Belt Requirement for Side-Facing Seats on Motorcoaches

NHTSA has received petitions from 13 motorcoach manufacturers seeking temporary exemption from a shoulder belt requirement for side-facing seats, allowing them to install lap belts instead. The agency is requesting public comment on the petitions.
