NHTSA Delays EDR Implementation Schedule

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is adopting a four-year phase-in compliance schedule for expanded pre-crash data capture requirements for Event Data Recorders (EDRs), starting September 1, 2028, in response to petitions for reconsideration of a final rule published on December 18, 2024.
