EPA and NHTSA Finalize SAFE Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have finalized the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient (SAFE) Vehicles Rule, which sets new greenhouse gas and Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards for passenger cars and light trucks from 2021 to 2026, and withdraws a waiver previously granted to California.
