Ford Granted Exemption from Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard for Ford Escape Vehicles

The U.S. Department of Transportation has approved Ford Motor Company's petition to exempt the Ford Escape vehicle line from the vehicle theft prevention standard, effective for model years 2009 and beyond, due to the effectiveness of an antitheft device as a substitute for parts-marking requirements.
