NHTSA and FMCSA Solicit Comments on Truck Speed Limiting Devices

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) are seeking public comments on petitions from the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and Road Safe America, as well as a group of nine motor carriers, to limit the speed of certain trucks and prohibit adjustments to speed limiting devices. The agencies will review the comments and data to inform their decision on whether to grant or deny the petitions.
