NHTSA Adjusts Civil Penalties for Odometer Tampering and Theft Prevention Statutes

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has updated its civil penalties for violations of odometer tampering and theft prevention statutes, increasing certain fines in line with the Federal Civil Monetary Penalty Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990, which requires periodic adjustments every four years.
