On November 26, 1999, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission ("Commission") published in the Federal Register a request for public comment on a proposal to revise its procedures for the review of contract market rules and rule amendments (64 FR 66428). The original comment period expires January 25, 2000. By letter dated January 3, 2000, seven agricultural organizations requested a thirty day extension of the comment period to permit the membership of each organization to fully consider the implications of the proposed procedures.\1\ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
