In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair or deceptive acts or practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent order prohibits, among other things, a New Jersey-based company and its officer from misrepresenting the health, safety and environmental benefits of its beauty salon disinfectant products and aerosol spray, and requires the respondents to possess reliable and competent scientific evidence to substantiate such representations.
