Zusammenfassung
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) announces the availability for public review of a draft revised recovery plan for the Great Lakes and Northern Great Plains Population of the Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus). The Service listed the piping plover as endangered and threatened in January, 1986, and completed a recovery plan for the Great Lakes and Northern Great Plains populations in May, 1988. That recovery plan is being revised to incorporate new information on the species' biology, the results of the 1991 International Piping Plover Census, and changes in threats experienced by the two populations. The Service solicits review and comments from the public on this draft revised plan.
