On March 9, 1994, at 59 FR 11122, EPA published a proposed rule to prohibit the manufacturing, processing, and distribution in commerce in the United States of certain smaller fishing sinkers containing lead and zinc, alone or mixed with other substances, including those made of brass. In that notice, the Agency stated that it would hold an informal hearing if persons requested time for oral comment. EPA has received requests for a hearing on the proposed rule and will hold a 2-day public hearing.
