The Western Pacific Fishery Management Council proposes a new amendment to the Fishery Ecosystem Plan for Pelagic Fisheries of the Western Pacific Region, which would create a protected area around the Northern Mariana Islands and prohibit purse seine fishing in the U.S. EEZ around Guam and the CNMI.
