US Customs to Refuse Energy Noncompliant Goods, Conditionally Release for Compliance
Summary
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is proposing amendments to its regulations to refuse admission of consumer products and industrial equipment that do not meet energy conservation or labeling standards, as identified by the Department of Energy (DOE) or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). CBP may conditionally release these goods for reconditioning or re-labeling to bring them into compliance.
