NMFS Reallocates Pacific Cod in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is reallocating unused Pacific cod from larger vessels using jig gear to smaller vessels using hook-and-line or pot gear in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area to meet the 2011 total allowable catch limit. This reallocation is necessary to allow for the harvesting of the total allowable catch of Pacific cod.
