NMFS Temporarily Relaxes Atlantic Herring Trip Limit in Management Area 3

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has lifted the 2,000-lb trip limit for the Atlantic herring fishery in Management Area 3 due to recent catch data showing that 95% of the sub-annual limit has not been met. Vessels with Federal Atlantic herring permits can resume fishing for herring in amounts exceeding 2,000 lbs from November 7 to November 10, 2011.
