NMFS Reallocates Pacific Cod Catch Limits in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is reallocating unused Pacific cod catch limits from trawl and jig fishing vessels to trawl and hook-and-line fishing vessels in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area to meet the 2011 catch limit. This reallocation is necessary to allow for the harvesting of the 2011 Pacific cod total allowable catch (TAC).
