Summary

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is implementing regulations to minimize the incidental taking of marine mammals during the construction of the Ocean Wind 1 Offshore Wind Energy Project off the coast of New Jersey. The regulations, which will be in effect from October 13, 2023, to October 12, 2028, allow for the issuance of a Letter of Authorization (LOA) for the incidental take of marine mammals during construction-related activities.
