NMFS Adjusts 2023 Atlantic Herring Specifications

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is adjusting the 2023 Atlantic herring specifications by subtracting 1,000 metric tons from the management uncertainty buffer and reallocating it to the herring annual catch limit and Area 1A sub-annual catch limit, in response to the New Brunswick weir fishery's lower-than-expected herring landings through October 1.
