CMS Establishes New System of Records for Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program

Summary

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is creating a new system of records, titled Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program National Level Repository, to track eligible professionals, hospitals, and organizations participating in the Medicare and Medicaid programs that adopt and demonstrate meaningful use of certified electronic health record technology, in accordance with the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) of 2009.
