NMFS Adjusts Atlantic Herring Catch Limits for Remainder of 2022

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has increased the annual catch limit and sub-annual catch limit for the Atlantic herring fishery in the Northeastern United States by 1,000 metric tons, due to lower than expected landings in the New Brunswick weir fishery, as of October 1, 2022.
