NHTSA Denies Defect Petition for Hyundai and Kia Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has denied a defect petition submitted by a consulting firm and four automotive associations regarding oil drain pan assembly failures in Hyundai and Kia vehicles from 2005 to 2021, after a technical review found no evidence of a safety defect.
