FTA Issues Safety Advisory 21-1 for Rail Transit Rolling Stock Inspection

Summary

Following a 2021 Metrorail derailment, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has directed State Safety Oversight Agencies to inspect and report on wheel gauges on all rail transit rolling stock in revenue service, with inspections to be conducted fleet-wide at rail fixed guideway public transportation systems.
