Closure of Mid-Atlantic Scallop Access Area to General Category Individual Fishing Quota Vessels

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has closed the Mid-Atlantic Scallop Access Area to general category individual fishing quota scallop vessels until the end of the 2018 fishing year, as 100% of allocated trips are expected to be taken. This closure is a result of the projected exhaustion of scallop resources in the area.
