The Alaska Seafood Cooperative has submitted an application for an exempted fishing permit (EFP) to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to allow non-pelagic trawl catcher/processor vessels to sort halibut on deck in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands.
