NHTSA Withdraws Proposal to Harmonize Glazing Materials Safety Standards

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has withdrawn its proposal to revise the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 205, 'Glazing Materials,' in an effort to align it with the Global Technical Regulation (GTR) No. 6, 'Safety Glazing Materials for Motor Vehicles and Motor Vehicle Equipment.' The decision comes after NHTSA reviewed comments from the public and found that harmonizing the standards may not lead to increased safety.
