NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 2009 Jeep Compass Vehicles
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received a petition requesting that model year 2009 Jeep Compass vehicles, which do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, be allowed to be imported into the US due to their substantial similarity to US-certified vehicles and their ability to be modified to meet safety standards.
