Western Pacific Pelagic Fisheries; U.S. Territorial Catch and Fishing Effort Limits

Summary

The U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has implemented a management framework for pelagic fisheries in U.S. Pacific territories, setting a catch limit of 2,000 metric tons of bigeye tuna for each territory in 2014. This rule allows eligible U.S. longline fishing vessels to transfer up to 1,000 metric tons of the limit between territories.
