NMFS Reallocates Pacific Cod in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area
Summary
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is realigning unused Pacific cod catch from larger vessels using pot gear, trawl gear, and American Fisheries Act (AFA) catcher/processors to vessels using hook-and-line gear and pot gear in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area to meet the 2014 total allowable catch of Pacific cod.
