AgustaWestland Issues Airworthiness Directive for A109A Helicopters Due to Cracked Thomas Coupling Nuts

AgustaWestland has issued an airworthiness directive requiring U.S. owners and operators of affected A109A helicopters to inspect and replace cracked Thomas coupling nuts within 10 hours of service or 30 days, following two incidents of cracking on the nuts that connect the flexible disc coupling with the splined adapter on the tail rotor drive shaft.
