EPA Proposes Sacramento Area Attainment for 2006 Fine Particle Standard
Summary
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to determine that the Sacramento nonattainment area in California has met the 2006 24-hour fine particle (PM 2.5) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) based on quality-assured monitoring data from 2009-2011. If finalized, the EPA will suspend certain Clean Air Act requirements for the area as long as it continues to meet the standard.
