NRC Denies Petition to Assess Proliferation Risks for Enrichment or Reprocessing Facilities

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has rejected a request from the American Physical Society to require license applicants for enrichment or reprocessing facilities to evaluate the potential risks of nuclear proliferation, following public comments on the matter.
