NHTSA Proposes Amendments to Tire Identification Number (TIN) for Enhanced Safety and Recordkeeping

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is proposing two significant changes to the Tire Identification Number (TIN), a crucial component in identifying tires subject to recall campaigns for safety defects and noncompliances, in order to improve safety and recordkeeping practices in the tire industry.
