NHTSA Grants Waivers for Certain Highway Safety Equipment Purchases

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has granted waivers to the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP) to purchase certain highway safety equipment, including portable data projectors, wireless remote control presenters, DVDs, and high-visibility motorcyclist vests, due to the lack of suitable domestic products, and training motorcycles, as the domestic products are 25% more expensive.
