NHTSA Adopts New Fees for Importer Registration and Motor Vehicle Importation

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has updated its fees for Fiscal Year 2015, which will apply until further notice, to cover the costs of maintaining the Registered Importer (RI) program. The new fees include increased charges for registering new importers and renewing existing registrations, as well as higher fees for importing vehicles that meet certain eligibility criteria.
