NCUA Amends Capital Requirements for High-Risk Credit Unions
The NCUA Board is amending its regulations to require federally insured, natural-person credit unions with assets over $100 million to hold capital commensurate with their risks, aiming to reduce the likelihood of systemic losses. The revised regulations, set to take effect, will restructure the prompt corrective action process and introduce a new risk-based capital ratio.
