FCC Mandates Automatic 'Bounce-Back' Text Messages for 911 Emergencies

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a rule requiring all mobile carriers to provide an automatic text message response when a consumer attempts to send a text message to 911 in an area where text-to-911 is not available, in an effort to prevent false emergencies during the transition to Next Generation 911.
