Announcing Approval of Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 201-2, Personal Identity Verification (PIV) of Federal Employees and Contractors

This notice announces the Secretary of Commerce's approval of Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 201-2, Personal Identity Verification (PIV) of Federal Employees and Contractors. FIPS 201-2 includes clarifications to existing text, additional text in cases where there were ambiguities, adaptation to changes in the environment since the publication of FIPS 201-1, and specific changes requested by Federal agencies and implementers.
