EPA Proposes Revision to Definition of Volatile Organic Compounds to Exclude Certain Fluorinated Gases
Summary
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to revise its definition of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to exclude two fluorinated gases, 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) and trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze), which the agency believes do not significantly contribute to ozone formation, in order to help states prepare plans to meet national air quality standards.
