Chrysler Granted Exemption from Federal Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard for Confidential Vehicle Line
The US Department of Transportation has granted Chrysler LLC's petition for exemption from the Federal Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard, allowing the company to install an antitheft device as standard equipment on its confidential vehicle line, which the agency believes will be as effective as the parts-marking requirements of the standard in reducing motor vehicle theft.
