FDA Confirms Effective Date for Mica-Based Pearlescent Pigments in Distilled Spirits

The US Food and Drug Administration has confirmed the July 15, 2013, effective date for a final rule allowing the safe use of mica-based pearlescent pigments in certain distilled spirits, including those with 18-23% alcohol content.
