Red Snapper Closure Implemented in South Atlantic Region
Summary
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has implemented a temporary rule to close commercial and recreational fisheries for red snapper in the South Atlantic, in response to a request from the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council, to reduce overfishing and prepare for long-term management measures outlined in Amendment 17A to the Fishery Management Plan for the Snapper-Grouper Fishery of the South Atlantic Region.
