US Fisheries Agencies Determine Overfishing Conditions for Pacific and Gulf of Mexico Stocks
Summary
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued a notice determining that several fish stocks in the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico regions are overfished, including the canary rockfish, Queets coho, and Western Straights of Juan de Fuca coho stocks, as well as the gag grouper in the Gulf of Mexico. However, an updated assessment has since found that overfishing is no longer occurring in some of these stocks.
