MMS Amends Royalty Regulations for Gulf of Mexico Leases

Summary

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) is updating its rules for distributing royalties, rentals, and bonuses from certain offshore oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico, in line with the 2006 Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act. The new regulations will start disbursing revenues to states and conservation funds starting March 31, 2009.
