Mitsubishi Motors Granted Exemption from Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard

The US Department of Transportation has granted Mitsubishi Motors a full exemption from the Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard for its Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle line, deeming an antitheft device as effective as required parts-marking. Mitsubishi had requested confidential treatment for some submitted information, which will be addressed in a separate letter.
