NHTSA Decision Allows Importation of Nonconforming Jeep Cherokee Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that certain nonconforming 1997 and 1998 left-hand drive and 1997 through 2001 right-hand drive Jeep Cherokee vehicles are eligible for importation into the US due to their substantial similarity to US-certified models and their ability to be modified to meet safety standards.
