Volkswagen Granted Exemption from Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard for Audi A3

The US Department of Transportation has approved Volkswagen Group of America's petition to exempt the Audi A3 vehicle line from the vehicle theft prevention standard, effective for model year 2010 and onwards, due to the effectiveness of an antitheft device as a substitute for parts-marking requirements.
