NHTSA to Reconsider Preemption in Corporate Average Fuel Economy Rulemaking

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will re-examine the issue of preemption in the context of its forthcoming rulemaking to establish Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards for model year 2012 and later years, following a request from the President to reconsider its views.
