Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Air Brake Systems Amendment to Improve Stopping Distance Performance
The U.S. government has amended the Federal motor vehicle safety standard for air brake systems to reduce the stopping distance of heavy truck tractors, aiming to decrease fatalities and injuries in crashes involving tractor-trailer combinations and other vehicles.
