NHTSA to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for New Corporate Average Fuel Economy Standards
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) plans to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the potential environmental impacts of new fuel economy standards for passenger cars and light trucks, as mandated by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
